Thinking about Packaging More & Plain Packaging Boxes

"It's the very same old tissue, honey, it doesn't make a difference, ok? It's still going to work the same way", my exasperated hubby hissed into my ear as I grabbed containers after cartons of some 'designer' tissue. DESIGNER TISSUE! Hah, can you even hear me say that? I can't think I really wrote 'designer tissue'. Yes, for a graphic designer and writer who understands all about the kind of effort one puts into product packaging and branding products, I sure fell for it. All the hoopla. The shenanigans. The 'draw 'em in with good copy and fab color combo'. Hey, I am still a customer, bear in mind that. I am entitled to succumb to good packaging, I have a dominating right to be human.

But they are so quite ... the packaging. I swear!

They have the 'nature fan' packaging, the 'fruity' product packaging, the 'woman on the go' packaging, and after that they have the 'kids' packaging. I grabbed 4 of each design bundles and made a run for the counter with them with my yelling kids and exasperated hubby pursuing me in slow movement. It was certainly a 'die-hard' moment. You know, when the hero is fleing from a lot of wild bad men with device weapons, and they're contending your feet or something ... and there's a surge behind you ... and everything happens in ssslllloooowwwww mmmmooooottttttiiiioooonnnnn.

Well, in this case, I was running for checkout with boxes of tissue paper with expensive packaging designs on them. I would find it comical enough if I didn't like the product packaging creates so much. However I am dead major. I liked the packaging creates so much, after utilizing up all the tissues in the boxes, I would cut out the designs and put it into my 'should keep for referral' clear folder. I don't keep a great deal of things in there due to the fact that I am pretty selective about the designs that I like, however these packaging designs made it. They absolutely did.

You see, this is the kind of thing that happens when you put some effort into making your product packaging design. Yeah, we all have this in the back of our heads ... "Hey, it's PACKAGING! They're going to THROW the PACKAGING away.

This is what I have to inform you, as a graphic designer and consumer. The more effort you take into developing your product packaging, more clients will stop and have a look at your packaging or what's inside the product packaging. Now, does it make sense for me to state now that when they stop and take notice of your product packaging, your chance of getting them to purchase your product increases? Precisely.

You see, the role of product packaging is to get the consumer's attention. And without an electrifying product packaging, customers are going to walk past the heaps and stacks of other rival products ... and yours ... without even get more info knowing you're there! Your product is sitting there on a shelf, for goodness sake, and the only weapon you have is to have a great product packaging. Once they take an appearance and stop, you've won the very first round.

Believe about it!

They have the 'nature lover' packaging, the 'fruity' product packaging, the 'female on the go' packaging, and then they have the 'kids' product packaging. Well, in this case, I was running for checkout with boxes of tissue paper with expensive packaging designs on them. I enjoyed the product packaging designs so much, after using up all the tissues in the boxes, I would cut out the styles and position it into my 'must keep for recommendation' clear folder. I do not keep a lot of stuff in there because I am pretty selective about the styles that I like, however these product packaging designs made the cut. The more effort you put into designing your packaging, more clients will take an appearance and stop at your packaging or what's inside the food packaging plant.
